Forget Me Nots

The morning of Varsity Baseball Senior Recognition for the Oakmont High School Class of 2026 was filled with a quiet, purposeful energy at Sister’s and Stem’s Flower Farm. As the sisters worked to fulfill a special request for the varsity baseball team’s event, they were tasked with creating 11 beautiful bouquets—one for each of the mothers who had spent years as "baseball moms". These women had spent the last four years in the stands, through sweltering sun and long travel tournaments, providing the loudest cheers for their sons. While gathering fresh blooms for the arrangements, the sisters discovered an unexpected gift from nature: a beautiful, vibrant patch of forget-me-nots blooming. Traditionally associated with sentiments of remembrance, loyalty, and enduring love, these tiny five-petaled blue flowers felt like the perfect addition to such a milestone occasion. The sisters decided to weave these delicate blossoms into every one of the 11 bouquets. Symbolically, the forget-me-nots served as a heartfelt plea and a promise: "Forget me not". For the mothers, the tiny blue flowers represented a way to forever cherish and remember every moment of their sons' baseball careers over the past four years at Oakmont—the early morning practices, the "ugly crying" of senior spotlight moments, and the lifelong connections forged on the diamond. The bouquets from Sisters & Stems were more than just floral arrangements; they were "memories pressed in petal form," ensuring the legacy of their high school years would never be forgotten. My daughter was among those mothers. Oakmont Vikings Baseball
